Fashion Is Art And You Are The Canvas
Wearing colour always makes me happy. When my friend Paula spotted this swing skirt she knew I would fall in love with it. It has FASHION written all over it. Can you believe it’s a “Barbie” vintage swing skirt!
Sometimes it’s hard to know how to style colorful prints and patterns. Is there a formula? Well, the only formula I use is first start off with the item you want to stand out and here we use the swing skirt. The green in the swing skirt is a hard one to pair, however, all the beautiful colors in the skirt work well with this green, so the formula is easy, choose the colors in the skirt.
One ~ Jean Shirt & Heels
When I first thought about styling it for the Summer and Spring, I knew a chambray shirt would pair perfectly with it. Here I tied it at the waist and added a big floral pin with royal blue heels. The chambray shirt is from DKNY.
TIP: If you are in the Niagara-on-the-Lake area, stop by the Outlet Mall and see all the deals at the DKNY & Coach outlet stores.
The hair had to be put in a pony with loose bangs to give it that cute fun look. I used the cream coach purse so it would not take away from the outfit and Balenciaga cat-eye sunglasses finish the look.
Two ~ Cropped Sweater and Boots
With all the colors in the skirt, I styled it here with a BCBG Cropped Sweater in peach. I thought I would soften the look and bring out the light peach hues in the skirt. This season I am in love with lightweight cropped sweaters. I love how they accent my waist. Cropped sweaters are perfect for an hourglass figure. They do not add bulk to a tiny waist as other winter sweaters can.
My Radley handbag and beige open-toed boots are the perfect add-on accessories. This bag is such a unique piece I added to my wardrobe. The soft hues work so well with all my outfits and the “Journal” book-like style makes it a statement piece. The booties can be worn with a cute ankle sock to keep your feet warm.
When the weather gets a little chilly I can throw on my Regal pink faux fur coat. This coat is the softest faux fur I have ever felt, I almost want to use it as a blanket.

I love the way all the soft colors of the outfit don’t overpower the green in the skirt.
My “Toni” Floral Pin I created to match the look and it picks up on the cream in the swing skirt. You can purchase these one of a kind pins in my shop. I will be adding more colors to the collection so check back often.
Three ~ Cropped Cardi and Sequin Booties
Another cropped style sweater, but this H&M Wool Cardi has this feminine vibe to it and the wool makes it extravagent. This cardigan is a bit thicker than the peach cropped sweater I styled above, but perfect to wear with an overcoat. My “Toni” floral pin blends perfectly with the cardi, just very subtle. Let’s talk sequins! So these boots I bought a few years ago, but look how different they are. I love the sequin detail on the back, just gives it a fashionable fun look.
My Donna Karan coat was such a great buy at Marshalls. The quality of the Alpaca Wool makes this so luxurious and the color alone makes it easy to wear with a casual or dressy outfit. The cloud bag gold chunky chain has that luxurious feel to it and is a perfect pair along with the wool coat.
