Transition from summer sandals to fall sweaters and then add a winter boot
Shorts are an obvious necessity in the summer. When you think of shorts, do you think of jean shorts or Bermuda shorts? I am a fan of dressy shorts because they are so versatile. I love high-waisted dressy shorts to wear for nights out on the town, or a date night, or even for casual Fridays at work.
Season One ~ Summer
For the summer months, these Zara shorts with buttons keep you cooler. Here, I styled it with a DKNY off-the-shoulder top and some cute ankle sandals. I fell in love with these Zara shorts with buttons the second I spotted the side gold button details. They give the shorts a dressier vibe which makes it easy to dress them up. The top, well what can I say, I am a sucker for ruffle details. The top and waist are both elasticized, which makes it easier to wear off or on the shoulder, tucked in with shorts, or to wear over jeans for a looser fit.
TIP: If you are in the Niagara-on-the-Lake area, stop by the Outlet Mall and see all the deals at the DKNY outlet store.
A cute tank top and some flat sandals paired with these high waisted shorts would give the outfit a casual comfy look.
Season Two ~ Fall
In the Fall, when the weather starts to cool down, a lightweight sweater is a perfect fit with these shorts. The spring weather here in Canada can alter by the hour. The mornings tend to be cool, so keep the sleeves long, then by noon the sun comes out and it becomes hotter, so you can pull up the sleeves. This sweater is a beautiful light knit, which I scored at Marshall’s. The puff sleeve and string detail on the arm are what caught my eye. The boots I paired them with are lightweight suede, which is not as hot as other leathers. The length of these shorts is perfect to transition through the seasons as they are not too short.

Season Three ~ Winter
Layer the Fall look with a leather jacket and if the weather is chillier a pair of tights under the shorts. Shorts can be styled just like a mini or midi skirt really, and if you pair it with tights a cream or beige colour would work well with the outfit. Leather jackets and blazers are perfect for transitioning through the season’s because you can wear something light underneith, and just remove them depending on the weather. The cream, beige and mink tones work well together and they compliment one another.
